Night regulations

Rotterdam The Hague Airport, as an international airport, is open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.
In the evenings and at night, a number of limitations are applicable. Below you will find more information about the night regime and the extension of opening hours.



  • Between 18:00 and 08:00 there is a ban on less quiet, large aircraft;
  • Between 23:00 and 07:00, the airport is only open for aircraft with technical difficulties, rescue flights, urgent medical flights (for example, organ donations), contingencies (aircraft that cannot land at their scheduled destination airport, for example, due to bad weather conditions), business personal flights with smaller aircraft, police and Coast Guard;
  • Between 23:00 and 00:00, take-offs and landings of delayed large aircraft are permitted (under certain conditions) and landings of large aircraft from the quietest category;



  • Between 00:00 and 01:00 delayed quiet, large aircraft may land;
  • Starting at 06:00, landing of position flights (aircraft that arrive without passengers in order to begin service after 07:00) is permitted;
  • The Government (the State Secretary for Infrastructure & Environment) can grant waivers in other (unusual) cases.
