Due to the weather conditions, we expect possible delays and cancellations. Also, we would like to ask you to take some extra time to travel to the airport. We advise you to check the actual flight information on our website frequently and to contact your airline.
For children between the ages of 4 and 12, we have developed a special educational programme for elementary education. We receive more than 7,000 children annually with this programme. In addition, we receive children during school holidays with promotions of, for example, Jeugdvakantiepaspoort (Youth holiday passport), Rotterdampas (Rotterdam pass) and the Kinderburendagen (Children’s neighbour days).
Children in bright yellow waistcoats who come along to help for a morning are now a familiar sight at Rotterdam The Hague Airport. Children from years 1-4, under the guidance of their teacher or a parent, do the High flyers scavenger hunt developed especially for them. The children head out with a pilot’s case filled with assignments.
The children may sit in the seat of a ground host, copy the aircraft marshallers on the panoramic terrace and view x-rays of suitcases. They stand on the platform where the aircraft arrive and depart. Finally, they recover from a busy morning with a colouring picture and a glass of lemonade in the De Horizon restaurant.
Elementary schools – years 1–4
Monday and Tuesday from 09:30 to 11:15 (incl. break).
Not during school holidays.
The scavenger hunt will be introduced by an employee of the airport. Then the children head out with their own guides (at least 5).
Enrolment for promotions is only possible as an individual visitor and not as a group. Outside the educational programmes and promotions, we can unfortunately not receive any groups due to the complicated operational process of our airport.
Would you like to participate with a group in a programme this school year?
