Fuerteventura is an island which forms part of the Canary Islands lying in the Atlantic Ocean. Due to the influence of the Sahara Desert, the island enjoys pleasant temperatures throughout the year, making it an ideal destination for sun, sea and beach lovers. The island has a volcanic landscape, pearl white beaches and clear blue sea. Literally translated, the name Fuerteventura means “hard wind” which serves to make the island also an attractive destination for windsurfers and kite surfers.
