Kayseri is located at the foot of the dormant Mount Erciyes volcano. This volcano has formed an impressive landscape in the area. In the city you can visit the historical sights, including the centuries-old citadel with its 19 towers that is a hallmark of the city. There are even more beautiful monuments to be admired within the citadel. Kayseri has always been and still is a major commercial city.
